I’d like to prepare you for the following adventures with the tale of there origin.
Two years ago I bought a beautiful, old house with a rich history. It still needs some fixing up and there are rooms in the upper floors that could use a good cleaning, but it’s exactly what I was looking for. There’s a fantastic library full of books, a beautiful fountain in the backyard, countless secret passageways that lead from one room to another (great for playing tricks on my friends when they visit), and a very playful ghost.
During my first week in the house I had a reoccurring dream. In it an old man led me through a secret door and down a narrow corridor to a small room. There, on top of a desk sat a leather-bound book. The man handed it to me and said his name was Edgar Font. He asked if I would take the stories found inside the book and share them with you. I would always wake up before looking inside the book and by breakfast dismiss the dream as nothing more than my overactive imagination.
The following week—as I cleaned my attic—I discovered a hidden door. It took me to the room from my dream. The book was missing from the desk, but in its place I found countless artifacts from all over the world. Old maps, framed fossils, and photographs of Mr. Font at places like Stonehenge, Easter Island, and the pyramids of Egypt filled all four walls. An old leather bag with a hole in the front flap hung on the back of the desk chair. It held the leather-bound book—a journal full of pencil drawings and the amazing adventures had by Mr. Font and his two grandchildren, Audrey and Garrett.
I proudly present the stories of Edgar, Audrey, and Garrett Font and hope you enjoy them, share them with your friends, and make every day of your life an adventure. I know Mr. Font would like that—his ghost told me so.
